Workshop Description:
This webinar brings together interpreters from NJ and the NYC Metro area to share their experiences interpreting in healthcare during this pandemic. Sign Language Resources (SLR) and Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Sign Language Interpreting Program have collaborated on an opportunity for panelists to engage in a discussion about how interpreting services in medical settings have been impacted by the pandemic. Panelists will have an opportunity to discuss the challenges as well as emerging best practices.
The learning objectives
Attendees will be able to:
Identify how hospital policies have changed and continue to change in the face of a pandemic and its impact on the work of interpreters.
Identify how to continue to maintain positive patient-interpreter relationships during this time.
Identify best practices for interpreting on site during the COVID-19 pandemic.
