April 2022 Newsletter
As the PD Team hopes to inspire you this month with resources and offerings,
we must also acknowledge the devastating situation faced by the people of Ukraine. Our friends, our colleagues and their families-- we stand with you.
WFD - SUPPORTING UKRAINE
The World Federation of the Deaf is organizing a donation campaign to support D/deaf people in Ukraine through the work of their member The Ukrainian Society of the Deaf.
WFD is also able to redistribute these donations to their members in neighboring countries who are receiving d/Deaf Ukrainians refugees if necessary.
SHARED RESOURCES
The Catie Center's Graduation to Certification Resource Library is a searchable database of activities and videos for skill development. Designed for both DIs and HIs, the resource library is useful for novice interpreters and educators working with novice interpreters.
Their Interactive Interpreting Practice Library is a collection of videos created with the Duluth Branch of the NAACP to bring deaf and hearing participants together for Zoom conversations. The CATIE Center has edited these videos to remove the interpretation so the videos are suitable for practice!
