october 2019 newsletter
Welcome back to school and the PD quarterly newsletters!
We hope that you can use this to find resources, workshops or as a place to feel just a little more connected.
ETHICAL RIPPLES
Whether you're facing ethical dilemmas in your day-to-day work, or prepping for the NIC Performance interview portion, it's always helpful to walk through the ripples of your decisions.
Northeastern's CALI (Center for Atypical Language Interpreting) program has compiled 12 scenarios for you to practice your own decision making approach, as well as learn from DIs and HIs in field.
JUMP IN---TO MATH!
Struggling to understand concepts in math class, let alone interpret them? Take a look at DeafTec's math lessons that are taught in English, interpreted into ASL and captioned. DeafTec is administered through NTID.
Additionally, DeafTec has created an online dictionary WITH example sentences for math and science vocabulary!
STILL INTIMIDATED?
Remember Khan Academy is a great resource for understanding concepts--be those in math or other subject areas!
Content ranges from kindergarten to college.
Khan Academy partners with NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
